The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, through volunteer efforts, education and advocacy, acquires, maintains, and protects the trail and lands of the Appalachian Trail, other trails, and related facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region for the enjoyment of present and future generations.

The Watoga State Park Foundation Inc. was formed in 2015. It is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) resource for the park and public. Most of all the Foundation promotes recreation, conservation, ecology, history and natural resources of the park.
