Metlakatla Indian Community

The mission of the Metlakatla Indian Community is to improve the lives of our members, and preserve our heritage and culture, through effective self-governance, a commitment to self-sufficiency, and the exercise and strengthening of our tribal sovereignty; we encourage progress while honoring our ancestors, and protecting our land and water for future generations; we promote sustainability by utilizing and respecting our natural resources, developing economic and social opportunities for our members, and implementing efficient and effective systems of governance to enhance our members’ safety, health, and welfare. The Council and tribal executives are dedicated to governing the affairs of the Annette Islands Reserve acting under the authority of our Constitution, ordinances, and policies to fulfill this mission.

Issaquah Alps Trails Club

Our mission is to engage the public to preserve, protect, and promote the land, wildlife, and trails of the Issaquah Alps for present and future generations. We raise awareness around challenges facing our public lands through guided hikes and community education. We take action to make sure everyone can enjoy the trails, parks, and open spaces of the Issaquah Alps now and into the future.

Center for Land Use Education (CLUE)

The Center for Land Use Education (CLUE) is a joint venture of the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and the University of Wisconsin - Madison Division of Extension. It is a focal point for land use planning and management education.

Friends of the North Pikes Creek Wetlands

The Friends of the North Pikes Creek Wetlands is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the long-term protection and scientific management of the North Pikes Creek wetlands, and to the responsible use of this unique resource for nature-based recreation and education by people of all ages and physical abilities. The Friends fostered the acquisition of 410 acres of forested wetland properties in the headwaters of North Pikes Creek – located in northern Wisconsin, near the South Shore of Lake Superior – resulting in the permanent protection of this unique habitat, and the creation of Beaver Hollow, a universally accessible community outdoor education area.

First Journey Trails

Though our primary field of expertise is the design and construction of mountain bike facilities, we offer a comprehensive list of recreational services. Satisfied clients include: municipalities, mountain bike clubs, Ministry of Recreation Sites & Trails, First Nations, and private landowners. Thomas Schoen has been building trails since 1998 in the Interior of BC. In 2009 First Journey Consulting entered into a trailbuilding agreement with the District of Wells and carried out the construction of the areas’ new multi-use trail network.
