We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable trail access for off-road bicyclists and to maintaining the trails on which mountain bikers ride and other user groups rely. The Appalachian Mountain Bike Club supports the conservation of open spaces and is committed to educating mountain bicyclists to ride sensitively and responsibly in order to protect the natural environment and the experience of other trail users.

Governed by a 14-member Board of Directors, the primary work of the Benton MacKaye Trail Association today is to maintain and to promote the Benton MacKaye Trail. BMTA volunteers maintain the now 287.6 mile long trail in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. In fiscal 2019, volunteers turned in over 5,027.6 hours maintaining the trail!

Legacy Parks Foundation is an East Tennessee nonprofit organization working to ensure that our community enjoys exceptional recreational opportunities, natural beauty and open spaces, and that these assets exist for generations to come. We work collaboratively to preserve our area’s extraordinary natural resources and to expand parks, create trails, and increase access to our rivers. Since 2007, Legacy Parks has raised over six million dollars for parks and open space, helped conserve 1,000 acres of forest and farmland, and added over 600 acres of parkland in Knox County.

The Palmetto Conservation Corps is South Carolina’s only trail-based state AmeriCorps Program for young adults. The Corps completes service work on the Palmetto Trail, through public lands, in communities, and with various organizations throughout the state.
