Nascentia Health was originally envisioned as a way to bring all of the programs and services provided by Visiting Nurse Association of Central New York, Inc., CCH Home Care & Palliative Services, Inc. and Independent Health Care Services, Inc. together under one umbrella. Since its inception, the system continues to embrace every opportunity to better meet the changing medical and non-medical needs of those throughout the region. Most recently, Nascentia Health launched VNA Homecare Options, LLC, a Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) Medicaid plan for those eligible for a nursing home level of care, added Home Aides of Central New York, Inc. to our system and began operating an Adult Day Program—all of which have been designed to enhance our range of offerings and develop a healthcare system that is unique and progressive.

Our work focuses on the social and economic trade-offs associated with providing outdoor recreation opportunities on public lands. Since our founding in 1998, we’ve been awarded several millions of dollars in grants, maintained an active outreach program, and trained some of the nation’s leading outdoor recreation and resource managers.
