The Ridgeline Outdoor Collective was founded during the winter of 2013 and was originally named the Rochester/Randolph Area Sports Trail Alliance (RASTA) . The initial efforts of the Collective were centered around developing ways to promote backcountry skiing access on public and private land. Before long, Ridgeline members realized there was additional local interest in trails for other forms of outdoor recreational activities as well, like mountain biking. Local interest quickly grew around the idea of creating a sustainable trail and glade network that extends through public and private land and can be used for various activities such as hiking, running, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and mountain biking. The proposed trails and glades would encourage sustainable outdoor recreation for locals and visitors alike. In the Spring of 2021 the Ridgeline board of directors voted to change our organizations name from the Rochester/Randolph Area Sport Trails Alliance to the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective.
