Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores (COGGS) was established in 1994 as a nonprofit 501-c3 organization dedicated to building, maintaining, and advocating for mountain bike trails in the cities of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI (the Twin Ports). Our trail network was recognized by IMBA as a Gold Level Ride Center, one of only six on the planet. A lot of people, and a lot of hard work, helped us get here. Our trails are multi-use, free and open to everyone to use.

TCTR was formed to address the lack of non-competition based riding clubs in Minnesota. Which in turn helped get us organized to do our part in making sure that we will all have trails to ride on in the future. We hope that by being a non-competition club that we can help attract new riders to our sport and be of some assistance to those just starting out and looking for someone to ride with. We are a recreational club that supports responsible riding for fun. As a continuation of doing our part, TCTR took on the maintenance responsibilities for the motorcycle trails in the Huntersville State Forest.

Imagine a system of bike routes connecting communities that have their own internal systems of on-road routes, off-road trails and protected bikeways. What if school children could safely walk or bike to school and were taught bike safety, riding skills and the rules of the road as part of their school curriculum? Wouldn't it be cool if cycling was a middle and high school sport? Think of a culture where bicycle commuting is welcomed by businesses. Our dream is for every Minnesotan to see these great things happening in their own community.
