Trail of Tears Association

The Trail of Tears Association is a national nonprofit with a mission to identify, protect, and preserve Trail of Tears National Historic Trail resources and to promote awareness of the Trail’s legacy, including the removal stories of the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek), and Seminole, consistent with the National Park Service’s trail plan.

Applegate Trails Association

The Applegate Trails Association (ATA) is a non-profit organization, formed by community residents to develop a system of hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails in the mountains and meadows of the Applegate and Rogue valleys. We cooperate with public land agencies, community organizations, and private landowners to preserve and connect historic trails, and to build new trails, for the broader community and generations to come. ATA is funded by chairitable donations and an all volunteer staff.
