Project work will include replacing an old bridge on the West Ridge Trail located in Summit County, CO.
The new bridge will be 20 ft. in length with a total of 36 ft. of bridge approaches on either side of the structure. A 36 ft. turnpike will be installed to elevate the trail tread above a wet, marshy zone. Bridge site prepping and drainage dip installation will be completed by a U.S. Forest Service mini excavator operator. Project work will be completed in Summer 2024 by Friends of Dillon Ranger District staff and volunteers. We will partner with 6-8 community organizations to provide volunteers for this project. We plan to have 8 project dates throughout the summer, totaling approximately 600 volunteer hours.
