Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center (GNFAC) – Montana

Based in Bozeman, Montana, the GNFAC covers an area of approximately 1,720 square-miles, including the Bridger, Gallatin, and Madison Ranges, the Lionhead area near West Yellowstone, and the mountains around Cooke City.

Palmetto Trail Extension at Stumphouse Mountain – South Carolina

Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park includes 1.5 miles of the mountains-to-sea Palmetto Trail, Stumphouse Passage, and 2.5 more miles of state-of-the-art mountain biking trail, for a total of 4 miles. The park is adjacent to the Stumphouse Tunnel and picturesque Issaqueena Falls, two well-known Oconee County tourist attractions.

Mount Emily Recreation Area – Oregon

The 3,670 acre Mount Emily Recreation Area (MERA) was purchased by Union County in 2008 with Oregon State ATV funds after a successful grassroots drive to keep the formerly private timberland from being subdivided into 240 acre parcels.

Vermont ensures projects are completed in a timely manner and then closed out. And Vermont has done this by establishing, evaluating, and implementing effective operating systems.

Sassafras Mountain – South Carolina

At 3,553 feet, Sassafras Mountain soars at the border with North Carolina, and offers scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. These long-awaited projects were completed in early 2019 and the Peak Trail and observation tower officially opened to the public on April 22, 2019 (Earth Day).

Pole Mountain Trails

Located between Laramie and Cheyenne, the 55,000-acre Pole Mountain Unit on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest is a treasured resource for outdoor recreation and trails. Pole Mountain provides the closest public lands to these two large Wyoming communities, and increasingly is a destination for visitors from the Colorado front range and travelers along Interstate 80.

Ramanessin Brook Greenway Trails

The Ramanessin Brook Greenway Trails Project consisted of the rehabilitation and enhancement of existing trails along with the development and construction of a new trail, all on Holmdel Township’s open space and all part of a connected trail system that links one end of the township with another.
