Sign-On Letter and Congress Outreach: Join the Trails Community in Support of FY25 Federal Funding for Trails!

Your organization's support is needed to secure funding for our nation's trails in the Fiscal Year 2025 Appropriations legislation. Please take the two actions below and sign-on to the letter of support for trails funding and submit these funding requests with your House and Senate office websites. Please share widely with other trail organizations and user groups!

Action 1: Join Sign-On Letter in Support of Federal Funding for Trails

Please join the broader trails community by signing on to this letter in support of robust federal funding for our nation's trails in the Fiscal Year 2025 Appropriations legislation.

Each year the trails community comes together to call on congress to provide robust funding for federally managed trails enjoyed by all types of trail users. Please add your organization via the link below to show support for funding to maintain our nation's trails. 

Last year the trails community was successful in maintaining funding in a very difficult year, and your organization's voice is needed to protect those gains. 

Please fill out this form to sign your organization on and to view the letter.

Deadline to Sign-On is Friday, May 3.

Action 2: Submit Trail Funding Recommendations to Your House and Senate Member Request Websites

Background: House and Senate Offices provide their constituents (your trail organization) the opportunity to submit funding requests to include in their offices recommendations provided to the appropriations committee. These requests help to shape what is included in the bill. 

Process:

1. Go to your Representative of Senators website (google or use Congress.gov to find website)
2. On the members website, look for the Appropriations Request Form, which can usually be found at the top of the page in the dropdown menu (look for “Services" or “Helping You” or constituent related tabs)
3. If you can’t find the form, you can reach out to a staffer or call the office. Contact information available here.
4. Use this FY25 Trail Appropriations Document which should be in a similar format to the information being requested.
5. If you are unsure of a request, leave it blank (if able).
