Additional data were also collected regarding protecting public lands and using the Continental Divide Trail in Colorado.

The purpose of the evaluation was to assess the impact of the Corps experience on participants in terms of targeted outcomes (e.g., civic engagement, leadership, etc.), their intentions to pursue additional education, and their confidence to obtain employment. Statistically significant increases were observed across all outcome measures in contrast to the general population comparison group.

This five-mile water trail within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ West Thompson Lake project is an excellent 3-hour outing for paddlers who are comfortable with moving water and enjoy seeing varied landscapes of forests and fields along with extensive wildlife habitat.
