The Montgomery Parks Foundation is a champion for Montgomery Parks, promoting the values and benefits of the park system to Montgomery County residents and policy-makers. The Foundation provides opportunities for county residents and businesses to support Montgomery Parks as members, donors, sponsors, and advocates, and actively seeks individual donations, sponsorships, legacy gifts, and endowments to support park operations, development and maintenance. The Parks Foundation is a fundraising and support organization to Montgomery Parks. The Foundation does not directly operate park facilities or programs. Funds raised by the Foundation are transferred to the Parks, where specialized staff acquire parkland, build and maintain park facilities, and deliver services to the public.

The Trail is maintained and managed by an extensive network of volunteers that includes a governing board, members, Friends groups, and donors. Collectively they contribute more than 20,000 volunteer man-hours each year! And yet, that is never enough — we can always use a few more hands to help us accomplish our annual goals.
