Funding was used to purchase equipment to provide trail maintenance to help keep trails open for year-round use (including snow trails), in and around the community of Cannonball, North Dakota and along the historic Cannonball River, which is on the Standing Rock Sioux Nation.
The project exists in an around the community on both paved (roadside) and natural (abandoned railway) surfaces. To keep trails open for use (year-round) in and around the community of Cannonball and along the historic Cannonball River. These trails are vital the health and vitality of the community. The trail system will expand to more than 12.2 miles (See attached) in the next five years. Current trails are equal 6 miles and will continue to be enhanced with new features. These trails are used for walking, running, biking and cross-country skiing (winter).
