Wild Alabama Connecting People to their Wild Places in Alabama!

The project location includes the Talladega National Forest and the Cheaha and Dugger Mountain Wilderness areas within that Forest. There is a 138 mile Pinhoti Trail through the Talladega that Wild Alabama has a signed volunteer agreement to organize volunteers and help maintain. Also another 12 miles of trails within the Wilderness areas. The towns nearby include Anniston, Oxford, Talladega, and others in Alabama

This project involved the organization of 150+ volunteers to do trail work on the following trails: 138 miles of the Pinhoti Trail (the longest trail in Alabama) that is within the Talladega National Forest, 50+ miles of trails within the Sipsey Wilderness area, and 20+ miles of trails within the Cheaha Wilderness area.
