Ouachita National Recreation Trail Shelters - Arkansas and Oklahoma

The Friends of the Ouachita Trail, using primarily volunteer labor, completed 12 shelters along the western end of the trail, which spans the two states. Users include hikers, backpackers, hunters, and mountain bikers.

Horseshoe Bend Park Trail Restoration - New Jersey

The trail system was in critical need of erosion control, raised walkways, and small bridges to enable the broadest number of people to use the trails year round, while protecting water quality and habitat.

Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department

The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation proudly maintains 182 parks for you! Local parks have playgrounds, organized sports, special programs and classes from swimming lessons to aerobics to Teen Clubs. Community Regional Parks provide larger facilities that feature adult organized sports leagues, playing fields and walking clubs. Regional Parks include lakes with boating and fishing, miles of hiking trails, swimming and activities including bicycling, hiking and horseback riding. Nature Centers and Wildlife Sanctuaries provide education on the native flora and fauna of Los Angeles County. Visitors to our four arboretum and botanic gardens experience plants from throughout the world. With the world’s largest municipal golf course system with 20 courses, visitors have an opportunity to play on beautiful golf courses with views from the mountains to the sea with extremely reasonable rates. And, the Hollywood Bowl offers world-famous entertainment while emerging artists are featured at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater. Our parks offer something for everyone!
