Rebecca has joined Trans Canada Trail as the Coordinator of Resources, bringing experience from both academia and industry from her previous roles at not-for-profits focusing on environmental conservation and tourism. Her education has included environmental studies, biology, recreation and leisure studies, with experience teaching at the post-secondary level in geography and tourism, she holds an MA in Recreation and Leisure studies, a Certificate of University Teaching, and is currently completing her doctorate at the University of Waterloo. Rebecca’s past and present research has revolved around quantitative research on outdoor recreation and trail user behavior, wellbeing and use constraints working with conservation areas and trail associations, which has aided her role at TCT optimizing resources and assisting with trail sector research.
