A graduate of Iowa State University in 1989 with a degree in Public Service Administration & Environmental Studies, John has worked in the field of conservation since 1990. He has been Director of Operations Planning, & Public Safety of McHenry County Conservation District since 2000 where he oversees District operations on over 25,000 acres, 34 parks and dozens of capital improvement projects. He directs a team of landscape architects, maintenance, and law enforcement professionals. John has been involved with path planning, policy, design, construction, and management for more than 30 years. He has worked collaboratively with all levels of government officials as well as cycling advocates to achieve trail connections and promote trial safe use.
