The Shawnee Volunteer Corps is a program within the agency that offers comprehensive volunteer opportunities to local, regional, and national volunteers. Shawnee National Forest is part of the National Forest system and is located in southern Illinois.
Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands provides online courses and onsite programs designed for those in the parks, recreation and tourism professions.
The National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) offers a unique and diverse range of conservation training courses, designed by and for the conservation professional. Topics range from coldwater fish culture to habitat conservation planning, from environmental negotiation to building community support for natural resource programs.
The Recreation and Park Resources program at Marshall University offers a bachelor of science degree with an emphasis in parks and conservation. Marshall University students will now be able to obtain a minor in off-highway vehicle recreation. The first course in the series was offered on campus in the spring of 2003 and the second course was offered in the spring of 2004. Since then, each course has been offered online.
