As Northwest Illinois’ regional planning organization, BHRC engages in community and economic development, natural resources conservation, and planning in Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties. Located in the Driftless Area, its prairie foothills, and adjacent to the Mississippi River in the tri-state area, we seek to improve the quality of life for communities and individuals.

Our mission is two-fold: To provide gear, outdoor excursions and outdoor education for free or at subsidized cost and
to connect participants with volunteer opportunities, internships, jobs, and post-secondary education resources to create pipeline from outdoor recreation to outdoor industry careers. In these ways, we can create economic equity in outdoor recreation and attempt to attack the wealth gap in vulnerable communities.

BLACKWATER BICYCLE ASSOCIATION is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the growth of mountain biking in the greater Canaan Valley, WV area through education, sustainable trail construction, maintenance, and safety.
