The Pendleton Area Saddle Club was formed in 1989 by a group of horse lovers who wanted to meet others who shared an interest in horses and to promote horseback riding as a family sport through organized activities. Through the years, the purpose of the Club has grown to include promoting and practicing trail stewardship through education and related projects and to address public land access issues which affect horse-related activities.

More than three-quarters of PennDOT's annual budget is invested in Pennsylvania's approximately 120,000 miles of state and local highways and 32,000 state and local bridges.
