The Louisville and Jefferson County Environmental Trust protects land for future generations through voluntary cooperative programs. Created in 1997, the Trust helps to implement the goals of Louisville Metro's Comprehensive Plan, Plan 2040, that relate to parks and natural areas, greenways, historic sites and farmland. The Trust’s staff is housed at Metro Public Works.

The Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust (LP&CT) is a private, non-profit land trust located in Lowell, Massachusetts. LP&CT was founded in 1990 by residents with a vision to protect the natural resources upon which the city of Lowell was built. LP&CT provides conservation leadership and programs which focus on four major areas: land protection, stewardship, environmental education, and special places.

The Lower Colorado River Authority manages more than 16,000 acres of recreational lands along the lower Colorado River from the Texas Hill Country to the Gulf Coast. The properties include developed parks, lake recreation areas, nature preserves, river access sites, and natural science centers. The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District (LPSNRD) is comprised of a six county area of southeastern Nebraska, including nearly one million acres and 350,000 residents. LPSNRD is governed by a 21–member, elected Board of Directors. The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District operates and maintains 200 flood control dams, 13 miles of levees, approximately 12 miles of urban stream channels, 50 miles of trails, 9 wildlife management areas, 11 public wetlands, and monitors ground water quantity and quality.
