In 2005, a small group of committed partners formed the Friends of the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge (FOC). Since that date, we have become a thriving network of more than 70 public and private organizations and individuals whose collective efforts forge mutually beneficial partnerships and strengthen the health of the Connecticut River Watershed and the communities that live in and are served by it.

Friends of the Trails is a group of concerned citizens who volunteer to encourage the development of multi-use, bike and walking trails within the Quincy community. Projects include fundraising, planning, promotion and implementation of planned trails through volunteer time and efforts.

Friends of the Urban Forest helps individuals and neighborhood groups plant and care for street trees and sidewalk gardens in San Francisco. This "green infrastructure" improves the city by beautifying neighborhoods, cleaning the air, and reducing polluted stormwater runoff. Since 1981, FUF has brought communities together to plant more than 60,000 trees, totaling almost half of the city's street tree canopy.

Friends of the Waterfront (FOW) is a grass roots 501(c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 1983 by concerned Newport, Rhode Island citizens to insure continued public access to the Newport harbor front at a time when developers threatened to turn public access to private and to block nearly all access to the waterfront. These enduring public access pathways can be traced back to the colonial era.
