Friends of the Owyhee

Friends of the Owyhee exists to promote conservation advocacy, stewardship, and responsible recreation in the Owyhee region. We work collaboratively with conservation and recreation groups, landowners, ranchers, Indigenous Tribes and Nations, sportsmen and women, and government agencies to help ensure the Owyhee’s unique ecological, cultural, and recreational resources are protected for future generations to experience and enjoy.

Friends of the Panhandle Pathway, Inc.

The Panhandle Pathway Trail is the 22 mile railtrail corridor running from Winamac in Pulaski County, almost to France Park (near Logansport) in Cass County. This corridor follows the old railbed of the Pennsylvania Railroad line i.e., the Panhandle Railroad and was purchased via the Federal Railbanking Program for the purpose of developing a trail for hiking, bicycling, and other non-motorized recreational uses.

Friends of the Pentwater Hart Trail

The goal of the Pentwater-Hart Trail Capital Campaign Committee, founded in fall 2015, is to successfully raise $ 4.2 million for the construction of a trail from Pentwater to connect with the northerly end of the Hart-Montague trail so as to enable residents and visitors safe access to that trail and the network of trails connected to it, from the Pentwater area.

Friends of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center

The Friends is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that exists solely to support the work of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center. The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, located in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, is a residential environmental education facility operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The Friends of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center was developed to enhance and promote the understanding and conservation of the prairie pothole region, primarily through support of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center.

The River of Grass Greenway is a proposed safe, non-motorized transportation and recreation corridor across the Everglades between Naples and Miami, that provides opportunities for education, stewardship, and preservation of the environmental, historic, and cultural assets of this unique area. The purpose of the Friends of the River of Grass Greenway (FROGG) is to focus on safety and environmental education and stewardship for those hiking, walking, or cycling through south Florida and the Everglades.

Friends of the Riverfront

Since its inception in 1991, Friends of the Riverfront has been a pioneering organization working to protect and restore the Pittsburgh region’s rivers and riverfronts after decades of legacy pollution. The Three Rivers Heritage Trail now encompasses over 25 miles of urban riverfront trails along both banks of the mighty Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers. Through broad and diverse collaborations, we continue the work of providing environmental restoration, economic vitality, and public health benefits to the Pittsburgh region through the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.
