Colorado: Kriste Peoples

Kriste is the founder of Black Women’s Alliance (BWA) of Denver and is a co-leader for Outdoor Afro Colorado.

Kriste is an outdoor enthusiast who loves to share her love of trails, whether she’s running, hiking, snowshoeing, or backpacking. Kriste is a trail running coach with Life’s 2 Short Fitness where it’s all about bringing fun, fitness, and adventure to women in front range Colorado and all across the globe! Kriste is the founder of Black Women’s Alliance (BWA) of Denver and is a co-leader for Outdoor Afro Colorado. When founding BWA of Denver, Kriste wanted to specifically create an organization that would be a safe space to get women of color out on the trails. Since its inception in 2014, it has encouraged people to get outdoors. BWA is host to year-round outdoor events as well as indoor workshops and retreats aimed at empowering us and igniting a sense of adventure in body, mind, and spirit.
