Description

This trail maintenance workshop will cover the applications of common structures as they relate to managing the surface flow of water on a trail tread and vegetation in the trail corridor. Participants will review the design, construction, and maintenance of structures like water bars, grade dips, check dams, and berm removal in managing the surface flow of water on a trail tread.

Learning Objective: As a result of the workshop, participants will better understand the dynamic impact of water on the trail tread surface and how these types of structures may impact the recreational experience.
