Introduction to Kayaking and Canoeing starts April 28, and meets a couple of times a week for 3 weeks. This class will cover the basics of this fundamental outdoor activity. Topics include general knowledge about the boats, local and regional destinations for enjoyment, safety, personal gear, basic water and weather conditions, and how to connect with others who share an interest in this activity. This six-class series includes two on-the-water experiences, with the final class being a guided trip down the Smith River on a Saturday. Instructors provided by Three Rivers Outfitters and Troublesome Creek Outfitters. Canoes, kayaks, paddles, and personal flotation devices (PFD's) will be provided. Cost: $75
