Description

Chainsaw safety classroom and field training is covered during this two-day USFS-certified training session by Helton Forestry Enterprises. Due to significant storm damage to area trails, the need for certified and recertified chainsaw operators is a critical issue. Participants learn basics of chainsaw job hazard analysis, use and maintenance, directional felling, as well as saw tasks and techniques. Participants
perform chainsaw operations and are evaluated on their skill level under the guidance of one of the more experienced USFS qualified instructor/certifiers in NC. Certificates will be awarded to all participants. Participants must dress appropriately for trailwork – gloves, hard hat, safety goggles, chaps, and leather boots required.
Chainsaws will be provided.

Cost: $200
