This two-day classroom and field training is a US Forest Service certified training session by Helton Forestry Enterprises. Participants will learn basics of chainsaw job hazard analysis, use and maintenance, directional felling, as well as saw tasks and techniques. Students will perform chainsaw operations and be evaluated on their skill level under the guidance of one of the more experienced USFS qualified instructor/certifiers in NC. Certificates will be awarded to all participants. Chainsaws will be provided. Personal Protective Equipment - Gloves, Hard Hat, Safety Goggles and Chaps should be furnished by student. Leather boots (required). Cost $200
