Description

The 2020 Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit will bring together two of Oregon’s premier outdoor recreation events: the Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit and Oregon Trails Summit. The summit aims to convene Oregon’s diverse outdoor community to learn, build relationships and find solutions to the challenges in developing and elevating outdoor recreation opportunities for all.

The 2020 summit will be an entirely virtual experience, offering dynamic, weekly programming over the course of one month.

The 2020 Outdoor Recreation Summit’s virtual format will offer unprecedented access and connection opportunities for all of Oregon's outdoor recreation communities and sectors. These are challenging times – COVID-19 has impacted us all, but has had disproportionate health, economic and social impacts on communities of color, the elderly and people with disabilities. This, coupled with the current national spotlight on the inequities Black, Indigenous and people of color face is a call to action for all of us. We must collaborate to eradicate the systemic disparities in health, safety, mobility and economic prosperity in our communities and in the outdoor sector.

With your participation, the summit will accelerate efforts to:

  • Connect Oregonians of all backgrounds and abilities to the outdoors.
  • Build a culture of environmental stewardship, cultural celebration and health through outdoor recreation.
  • Develop a network of trails for traveling within and between Oregon communities.
  • Prepare to attract a wide range of visitors that contribute to Oregon’s outdoor recreation economy after COVID-19 has subsided.
  • Support sustainable entrepreneurship and a thriving and inclusive outdoor recreation economy as a critical economic recovery strategy for Oregon.
