2021 American Trails Costume Contest Results!
Every year we ask you to get outside in your costume and send us photos! This year we had some fantastic entries from several different trail user types.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 4th annual costume contest! Your participation made it a huge success! We love to see everyone enjoying the outdoors in unique ways, and bringing fall celebrations to parks, trails, and neighborhoods. Not only that, but this year the entries included not just humans in costumes, but dogs, horses, and for the first time ever a cat participant. Trail users of all types also participated, with paddling, equestrian, hiking, and cycling all being represented. This year we had more entries than ever, and it was almost impossible to choose between all the excellent costumes, but we are happy to announce the winners below!
First Place
Entry from Nancy Furbee
"Spending time on our local water trail as we raise money for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Back. We were participating in the annual L.L. Bean Witches and Warlocks event at North Park Lake, just north of Pittsburgh. On our boat, you'll see Maleficent, Snake Witch, Dr Plague, and Bat Dogs, Bindi Lou and Hava. In the background of one of the photos, you'll see the North Park boat house."
Second Place
Entry from Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses located in Ocala, Florida.
The therapy horses made "Treat or Treat" visits in their costumes during the week of Halloween.
Third Place
Entry from Athena Philips
