Since we began the NRT Photo Contest in 2003, we've seen a great variety of trails captured by photographers around the nation. We sponsor the annual Photo Contest in celebration of these great trails and to highlight the diversity of NRTs, from backcountry trails to urban greenways.
2019 is no exception. We received a record 275 new images of National Recreation Trails and the winners range from a water trail in South Carolina to an off-road trail in Montana. Accessible trails are represented, as are snowmobile trails, backcountry hiking and equestrian trails, and well-traveled commuter trails. As always, the photos show the love we have for these NRTs and how they improve our quality of life.
