With no new National Recreation Trails (NRTs) named in 2019, and the deadline for 2020 National Trails Day fast approaching, we are encouraging Secretary Bernhardt to uphold this tradition of honoring and celebrating our nation's trails and designating new NRTs. Please read and share our open letter.

The 3-mile long Kalaupapa Trail is the only access point in and out of remote community of Kalaupapa in Hawaii. When a land-slide took out an old aluminum bridge, cutting off this access point, park officials looked to an FRP bridge for its light weight, corrosion resistance, and design flexibility.
