The state of Utah has used innovative programming to keep their citizens safe from avalanche dangers. Although they cannot completely prevent avalanches from occurring, they are educating the public through the Utah Avalanche Center about ways to avoid triggering an avalanche, and how to stay safe should one occur.

Ann has served on the Utah Recreational Trails Advisory Council for six years, and was Vice Chair for 2005.
John has been a constant and committed force for trails in Utah for the last 16 years.
Sandy serves as the Trail Mix Chairperson and Geoff serves as the Trail Mix hiking representative.
Max was instrumental in developing the Paiute Trail system, which has a 238-mile main trail with 550 miles of side trails.
Not only has Lynne Olson’s name been on every one of Parleys Rails Trails and Tunnels (PRATT) Coalition’s Corporate documents, but her fingerprints are on every major milestone and stroke of PRATT’s good “luck.”
Adam has diligence, work ethic, and the ability to teach others trail construction and maintenance using his skills and experience.

The trail crew used bicycles as their only transportation in improving trails at Utah State Parks site.
Replacement of an often-flooded stream crossing with a new bridge built from a recycled 60-foot overhead crane beam to access many miles of trails for off-highway vehicle recreationists as well as nonmotorized trail users.
