The High Trestle Trail Steering Committee, the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation (INHF), RDG Dahlquist Art Studios and Shuck-Britson/Snyder and Assc. raised nearly $15 million to complete a 25 mile-long rail to trail project.
The Jeju Olle Foundation has demonstrated outstanding efforts to bring dialogue about long distance trails to an international level.

Troy Dymock has been a “trailblazer” for over 16 years beginning with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in 1997 and moving to the Forest Service (FS) Recreation Solutions Enterprise Team as a Trails Specialist in 1999.
Barth Hamberg has served as a Landscape Architect on the Tongass National Forest in the Alaska Region of the National Forest System for his entire career, starting as a volunteer while still a graduate student at Harvard University in 1982.
Erin Wiggins has been employed with the Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority (PARA) since 1999, and currently serves as the Community Planning and Development Manager.
Milan Kruszynski works tirelessly in support of the trails in Hammond, Indiana.
