NWSA hosts annual workshops in partnership with other wilderness stewardship organizations and land management agencies. The conferences/workshops provide a great way for stewardship groups around the country to connect with each other and with key wilderness specialists in the federal land management agencies. The workshops are designed to have informative speakers and interactive sessions and to bring together the Wilderness Stewardship Community.
The goals of the AORE - AEE 2019 Conference include broadening collaboration within the fields of experiential education and outdoor recreation, creating higher-quality educational opportunities, building professional skills and knowledge, strengthening professionalism within their memberships, broadening networking opportunities, leveraging both communities in advocacy and public policy efforts, and raising awareness of the value and impact of experiential education and outdoor education.
Those attending the conference include practitioners, instructors, program administrators, military personnel and clinicians in both the outdoor and recreation industry and the experiential education industry. Participants will find the conference is the year's most important event for career development. For several days in mid-November, we will come together to share ideas, learn new techniques and re-energize for another year. The AORE - AEE Conference is the gathering of friends and colleagues, a place to improve performance and meet new people in your field.
Traditionally celebrated the 2nd week of November, the Downstate Conference is a one-day event hosted by the New York State Recreation and Park Society, the New York State Therapeutic Recreation Association, the Westchester Recreation and Park Society, the Hudson Valley Leisure Services Association and the Metropolitan New York Recreation and Park Society. The Downstate Event offers approximately 25 concurrent sessions, exhibit showcase and lunch for an estimated 300 park, recreation, and therapeutic professionals; including students. 2019 marks the 25th Anniversary of this collaborative effort.

The MassTrails Conference is hosted by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in partnership with the Massachusetts Recreational Trails Advisory Board (MARTAB) with funding provided by the Recreational Trails Program.
