This three-mile paddling and hiking trail is the result of a partnership between Illinois DNR, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Nature Conservancy to preserve, restore, and manage a 60,000-acre complex of wetlands.

David and Monica Day are 30 year veterans of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and are the Trail Crew Chairs of the West Jersey Crew. Thanks to their dedication they have forever changed the condition of NJ’s trails for the best.
Russ Waldie is a dedicated and reliable volunteer section maintainer on the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut, and has been for more than a decade.
Scott Monroe is retiring this year from the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Alpine Stewardship Volunteer Program. While it is understandable on Scott’s part, it will nevertheless be a major loss to the ASV Program.
Ed Morse began his North Country National Scenic Trail experience with the Spirit of the Woods Chapter in northern Michigan participating in hikes and trail work under the leadership of Joan Young.
