Martha Becton owns Becton Trails and is the Program Director of Duke Energy TRAILS and Environmental Planning and Development (EPD) Program at Rockingham Community College. Ardently championing sustainable trails and the skills required to build, maintain and manage them, she strives to meet folks where they are while systematically breaking down barriers to learning, effectiveness, and collaboration. A Forest Service C-Sawyer and one of the first female National Park Service National Chainsaw Safety Program Regional Instructor Trainers, Martha passionately teaches trail skills in the field and at conferences, develops training & education resources, and helps land managers, trail builders and cooperators groups navigate NEPA and other partnership challenges.
