With the skills I learn at the 2019 International Trails Symposium and Training Institute, I will work to better connect people to nature, and to make my community a safer and more accessible place for active transportation. I am especially excited to use these new skills to continue facilitating the completion of the York County Heritage Rail Trail’s connection from John Rudy County Park to Downtown York. Once completed, it will connect with an existing trail head in the heart of Downtown York to create a 27-mile long continuous trail down to the Pennsylvania – Maryland border, where it continues on as the Torrey C. Brown rail trail.

I currently work for Downtown Inc, an affiliate of the York County Economic Alliance and York’s Business Improvement District Authority and Main Street program. In my role as Project Manager, I work to improve the overall economic health of the City of York through beautification projects, pedestrian accessibility and safety initiatives, downtown placemaking, and managing the Downtown Clean-Up Crew. I hope to continue working with trails as my career progresses, because I believe connecting people to trails and providing active transportation alternatives is essential to improving economic mobility and achieving a higher quality of life.
