This photos was taken 5 months after the strike of Hurricane Maria on the island of Puerto Rico. For many years I have climbed Pico El Toro, which is the highest in this protected area, and it was the first time that I saw the forest so seriously affected. At least the forest service personnel had reopened the route. Despite the devastation of the forest, which can be seen defoliated patches, the forest gave us a beautiful rainbow as a sign of resilience.
