Trail: Path of the Flood Trail
A National Park Service Ranger stands outside the Staple Bend Tunnel, the first railroad tunnel in the United States, waiting for runners of the 8th annual Path of the Flood Historic Races to pass through. Luminaries are lit in memory of those that lost their lives during the 1889 Johnstown Flood, the race takes place the anniversary weekend of this every year.
