Cabinet Back Country Horsemen hail from the far northwest corner of Montana. Or mission is to perpetuate use of horses in the back country; assist government agencies in maintenance and management of the resource, and educate and encourage public participation in wise and sustaining use of horses in the back country. Most of our volunteer service is conducted on the Libby, Troy and Cabinet Ranger Districts of the Kootenai National Forest. The three Ranger Districts have almost 1150 miles of trail, including more than 30 trails in the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness, and 55 miles of the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail.
