Congress passed the National Trails System Act in 1968, establishing a nationwide system of scenic, historic, and recreation trails.
In 2018, America will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System Act. Leading up to the anniversary on October 2, 2018, we will be showcasing some of our favorite National Recreation Trails, National Historic Trails, and National Scenic Trails every month.
