The Director of Land Management and Open Space is a newly created position that will be responsible for leading the land management departments and activities relating to natural resource stewardship, recreation opportunities, and forest health and fire hazard mitigation in the subdivision and open space. The Director stays current on land management best practices and policies and serves as liaison to partner and collaborative groups fostering relationships and leveraging to benefit the organization and its mission. You never stop envisioning how Tahoe Donner could maximize its resources to plan and execute stewardship efforts. You play an important role in advancing TDA’s priorities while overseeing a management team with high volume and levels of member services, programs, and engagement.

2021 California Trail Corps Project Leader

Student Conservation Association (SCA)

The Student Conservation Association seeks applicants to mentor and inspires young adults for Conservation Corps Teams across the US. Project leaders supervise a crew of 3-5 members aged 18 to 30. Corps Teams work with multiple state and federal partners in both front and backcountry settings. Work projects are a mix of trail construction and maintenance, invasive species removal, and fuel reduction for wildfire management. Project leaders coordinate with agency partners to plan and implement projects, and with SCA staff to manage crew safety, performance, and logistics in the field. Typically, work hitches involve living and working with the crew for the duration of the season.
