Duties of the ranger include conservation property oversight, public use surveys, data collection, public relations, and trail assessment. Summer Rangers act as property attendants at various land bank conservation properties, ranging from coastal barrier beaches to kettle ponds. The
summer ranger welcomes the public, gathers use data, enforces property rules, and has a dialogue with the public about local ecology and environmental history.
Successful applicants must demonstrate good communication skills; willingness to engage with the public, have an ability to work both independently and as part of a team; have own vehicle transportation; and enjoy spending time outside.
Salary is +$13.50 per hour (40 hours/week). Applicants who have housing is a plus. If housing is required, furnished rustic housing is available with shared kitchen and bath, subject to housing contract.
