Seasonal Trails Technician- Open Space & Trails

Time Commitment: Seasonal
Performs a variety of general maintenance duties and implementation of management actions on open space properties. Specific duties include: monitor and inventory natural resources and public uses on open space properties; install/maintain signs, fences and boundary markers; supervise volunteers on restoration and trail improvement projects; inspect, maintain and construct natural surface trails and associated features; monitor special events; maintain tools and equipment; other work as assigned including occasional office work
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in natural resource management or a related field, and one to two years of open space and trails related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work well with a team or individually. Ability to effectively work with and supervise volunteers. Past experience completing on-the-ground resource protection and trail maintenance/construction projects. Willingness to work evenings and weekends. Proficiency in proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools, including chain saw. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and GIS/GPS proficiency a plus. Valid Colorado driver’s license required at time of hire and throughout employment.
$18.67-$20.54/hour plus benefits. Note: This is a full-time, seasonal position.
