Emerging Trail Leader Scholarship Recipient

Laura Scrimshaw

New Boston, New Hampshire, United States

I am the Director of a small nonprofit that provides outdoor adaptive sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities in New Hampshire. We have some really exciting opportunities to collaborate with some local and national groups to establish or enhance trail accessibility for rock climbing, Nordic ski, mountain cycling, etc. Universal outdoor access is such an exciting philosophy, and I want to work toward increasing accessibility without changing the rugged natural landscape.

I want to learn more about trail building, identifying and working with key project stakeholders, and identifying key conservation issues in order to appropriately work on these projects. My organization can't afford to send me. As the director of a small grassroots nonprofit, I can't afford to attend based on what I pay me!
