Emerging Trail Leader Scholarship Recipient

Julio Escarce

Santa Monica, California, United States

With the skills I learn at the 2019 International Trails Symposium and Training Institute, I will improve and expand my ability to assist Arctic and Antarctic scientists in documenting their field work on and off trail and sharing their knowledge through media and direct education in classrooms. ITS will help me develop a set of skills to physically and politically navigate the changing, slumping landscape above the Arctic Circle.
