The State Awards recognize individuals who have made compelling and significant contributions to the trails movement in their home states.
Josh Adams is the sole member and project leader for the Missouri Trails Project.
His goals are to edit and enhance the visitmissouritrails.com website that will be mainstream trail information as well as a resource for many other agencies across Missouri. The Missouri Trails Project has major potential in building and sharing a map of all the trail data in Missouri. Josh has met with the Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri State Parks, as well as members of regional planning commissions which will form the GIS subcommittee of this project. Josh’s project goals include finishing a newer map, determining communities in Missouri that have trails in which the project needs to collect trail data and flow into the map, and working with Missouri State Parks to provide an analysis of the ten best trail connections. Josh has future plans that includes technology enhancements and applications as well as trail tours.
