Trail safety and crime prevention features


Anticipating potential safety concerns for users is an important aspect of trail management. While trails have proven to be generally extremely safe recreational failities, as with any public place they are subject to the possibilities of criminal activity. The most common problem is theft from vehicles left at trailhead parking. Robbery and assaults are generally a problem on trails that pass through urban areas with chronic criminal behavior.
