Cross Alert Systems

logoCross Alert Systems provides active warning systems for recreational path/public road intersections. Most dangerous vehicle/path user interactions occur because vehicle drivers don't have a good sight distance from the road to the trail due to brush, trees, parked cars or buildings blocking the visibility. Our systems detect path users using infrared detection and use that detection to trigger flashing warning lights to vehicles, providing sight distance where sight distance is restricted. These units are solar-powered and use radio signals for intra-pole communication, reducing installation costs. A trail counter is integrated into our package. Please see our movie at http://www.crossalert.com/movie. Phone us at (866) 276-7725

The McConnell Foundation

logoThe McConnell Foundation The McConnell Foundation's 200-acre Lema Ranch and adjacent Churn Creek property in Redding, California include over eight miles of walking trails. This trail system was developed by The Foundation to provide a serene environment for the public to enjoy as they walk, birdwatch, or appreciate the many varieties of plants. Five ponds, built by the Lema family in the early 1950s, were improved in 1997 to encourage aquatic plant communities, which provide wildlife habitat and improve the water quality. Biofilters— heavy plantings of aquatic plants —slow the water down as it runs into the pond and cleanse the water of chemicals and harmful runoff. An ongoing effort to establish perennial grasses and reduce invasive, non-native plants is underway. The mission of The McConnell Foundation is helping build better communities through philanthropy. The Foundation is also the primary funder of the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay Exploration Park.
