Training and education

National Association of State Trail Administrators

The goal of our professional organization is to share ideas and information among all 50 states to improve our trails and greenways systems. With funding from the Federal Highway Administration we sponsor an annual training conference as well as communications on national issues. The next training session is scheduled for September 18-20, 2007 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada/California.

Your State Trail Administrator is the best person to contact to learn how the Recreational Trail Program operates in your State. See the State Recreational Trails Program Administrators address list for name, agency, and contact information. Also see training resources for your state.

Report on State Trail Projects

A report for FHWA by the Coalition for Recreational Trails, documents accomplishments of the Recreational Trails Program from its inception in 1993 through December 2000. Also in PDF format (375 KB) formats.

Training Resources by State

One important need to is help connect trail project sponsors with essential training. The National Trails Training Partnership has an online indes for each state to link with major providers of training for trails and greenways skills.
